U10 Girls - Devon Championships

The Under 10 girls are off the west finals!!!
They came second in the Devon's today just loosing the final 1-0 but winning all their other games.
The girls started very well by winning all their games in their section and so into the semi finals v ECVH.
After a very tense game going end to end it resulted in a 0-0!
So to penalty flicks! 3 to be taken..
"What is a penalty flick?" they all asked so quick as a flash 3 children were taught to push into the corners!
Then the GK asked
"What do I do????" Emma ( age 7), her first game for the club and first time in goal! Stick your foot out and stop the ball Jill advised, you don't need to clear it. Having established that they flick against the opposition GK not Emma we started!!!
At the end of the 3 flicks it was 2 goals each! Sudden death!!!! Zoe scored, Emma put her foot out ( as instructed) and pushed the ball onto the post. We won!!!!!!!!
So into the final ( we were too exhausted by the flicks/ too cold and tired to concentrate) but we knew we were through to the west finals, lost the final 1-0.
We are going to the West Finals in April!
Well done Emma, Elizabeth, Izzy, Elloise, Lucy, Zoe and Saoirse.
