Coaching
England Hockey has completed a review of the qualifications and the pathway and has made some changes. The following link to the England Hockey website will provide full information.
In a nutshell, the new coach development pathway provides more accessibility and flexibility for a coach to access relevant support and knowledge specific to their role. Depending on whether you just help out at sessions, are a teacher, want to be a coach or are already a coach you are signposted to the appropriate training path.
There are already five 3-hour Workshops in a Coaching Club Programme:
-
Engaging Games for Children
-
Engaging Sessions for Adults
-
Coaching for Club Players
-
Integrating Goalkeepers
-
Coaching for Talent
Additionally, there is a 6 hour ‘Introduction to Hockey Coaching’ Workshop for those looking for an introduction to coaching.
All Workshops are available for anyone aged over 16 with an interest in developing their coaching.
A new qualification, the England Hockey Sessional Coach, sits between the ‘Introduction’ and ‘Coach’ Awards. The course length is 2 days.
The ‘England Hockey Coach’ Award has replaced the 'old' Level 2 Coach Award (Course length 3 days).
All Workshops and courses are booked and paid for online and are currently delivered as virtual workshops/courses in the comfort of your own home. Find a course for more information.
