It is with great sadness that we advise our members and supporters that our Life Member, Joan Treece, passed away on Monday 16th May.
Joan had been a stalwart member of Exmouth Hockey Club for many, many years as a player and committee member and following our merger Joan became a staunch follower of Exe HC. Her role as the West Women's League Premier Division Secretary prevented Joan from wearing her club sweatshirt too often but when she did she wore it with pride supporting the club from the sidelines. Joan was delighted that our 1st XI had been promoted back to the Investec Women's Hockey League and was looking forward to being able to support the team next season.
Joan was well known in the hockey world having been a County Selector and Secretary of Devon County Women's Hockey Association in the 1980s and a Secretary in the West Women's Hockey League since 1999. A minute's silence in Joan's memory was observed at the Devon Hockey Association AGM last night.
Our condolences go to Dave and Joan's family at this sad time.
Joan we'll all miss you. Rest In Peace.
