Ladies 5th XI Vs Teign 3s (Friendly)

The fiesty 5th team were keen to get back on the pitch after a  long break since we last played in March.  

Amy Dennis played her first senior match - who settled very well in defence, intercepting whenever possible.

Camilla Arliss, GK,  had a good game and despite the scoreline being 5-1 to Teign, this did not reflect her sterling efforts, and to be frank the figures could have been double!

Exe had several missed opportunities to score and frustratingly, the first half ended 5-0 to Teign.  Coach, Nick, reminded this young team to get back on and do the basics, and that is exactly what they did, preventing Teign scoring on several occasions.  No goals were conceded in the second half.

In the second half, we didn't have many penalty corners, but one struck by Alice was crisp, switched cleanly around the D for Ella Evernden to strike one into the net!  A fabulous team effort.

A frustrating game if you look at the final score, aimed at the younger players which didn't quite match the team fielded by the opposition, but despite our youth, there was no hanging back on intensity and intention on our desire to win the game.  

Final Score 5-1 to Teign.

A great first game back, and YES, we will come back on the pitch and do better - we promise Nick!
