| Match Report | Exe Ladies 1st Team took on Basingstoke on Sunday in the second of their double-header weekend and fought their way to another 3-2 victory to take 6 points away from the two fixtures, propelling them up to 3rd in the league. Exe took the lead early in the first quarter through a well-worked goal from Emily Townsend and followed it up soon after with another great passage of play that was finished by Lorel Wallis. Basingstoke fought back hard though and scored a breakaway goal to take the score to 2-1. They scored again from a penalty stroke in the third quarter and took the game to a draw. Exe put the pressure on again though and Emily Mitchem scored a close-range goal to take the victory. Thanks to our first team sponsor Franco Manca pizza for teas provided! |
