Exe 3s were ready for the challenge. We started strongly with a goal within the first 10mins from Jem Brooker. The second and third came from a rebound and follow up from a penalty corner. It wasn’t all one way traffic with Taunton Vale putting pressure on us many times inthe first half. Without Tara Pidwell in goal encroaching on the player to force a mistake the score at half could have been different. 3-0 at half time, we were confident but knew we needed to regain our structure, not rely on route one hockey, and play our way up the pitch. The second half was awesome, with 4 excellent goals from another textbook penalty corner, a mind blowing reverse stick hit from, Man of the Match, Nicole Van Oosterom, a sweetly struck shot from Dani Lunn and finally a team effort selflessly passed back from Charlie Lewis for Jem to slot in to make the final score 7-0! Sian Williams had a great game controlling the defence to keep a clean sheet. Great preparation for our top of the table clash next weekend. Bring it on girls.
