We started well with some excellent linking play and soon capitalised on a short corner with Ailie McKinty converting from the top of the D. This was soon followed by goal number 2, scored by Charlie Lewis. Goal number 3 was a lovely deflected shot from a short corner by Charlie Cooper. At this point we suffered a number of injuries, from pulled muscles to balls hitting hands, meant we were down to 10 players. Dart scored their first goal late in the first half to make it 3-1 at half time. Exe 3s knew the second half was going to be tough. However Emma Corney soon settled us down with a flying shot into the top right corner. Dart came back fighting and scored a lovely well worked goal, followed swiftly by another breakaway goal. Time to pull our socks up! Charlie Cooper bravely came back on the pitch as she could see we were struggling. We were soon rewarded with our 5th well worked goal from the 2 Charlie’s up front. Final score 5-3 to Exe 3s. A great start to the second half of the season. Man of the match was Emma Corney.
