Ladies 5th XI Vs Okehampton 3

Exe 5ths travelled to Okehampton 3rrds for a late afternoon pushback.

Right from the off both sides were looking to play open hockey and made good use of space, particularly down the right wing.  A speculative shot on goal came from Exe's first real venture forward and the Okehampton defence resorted to saving a goal be kicking the ball off the line.  The resulting penalty flick from Jojo Bannister was well saved low to the keeper's left.

The rest of the first half was hard fought, with Okehampton forcing a string of short corners but neither side was able to break the deadlock.

Under the lights, the  second half picked up where the first had finished.  End to end hockey with both keppers making saves - Maya Fielding in the Exe goal in particular making some excellent saves from the prone position. 

Neither side was able to force an opening, and eventually the gMe finished goalless.

A great team effort, evidenced by votes for man of the match being spread around.  Jojo Bannister took the honours.
