| Match Report | The new season opened on a grey chilly morning in the pouring rain as Exe 5ths welcomed Dart 3s to St Peters. Exe started strongly with the majority of the play. Rewarded with a couple of penalty corners but these were well cleared by Dart. The first goal came from play with the ball passing quickly out of the corner and around the top of the D before being fired into the penalty spot for a waiting Esme Kilburn-Thompson to tap home. Half time: 1-0 Dart regrouped to contest the early stages of the second half well and hogged a lot of the ball, setting up camp in Exe's defensive 25. However Exe were solid at the back, communication working really well given the early season timing. Dart's best chances came from a couple of sharp runs out of their own defence but Naomi Oxborough swept cleanly and a goal never really looked on. Exe sealed the game, again from the theif waiting on the penalty spot, with Alice Gillick the player in the right place for the flick home.
