Ladies 2nd XI Vs Yeovil & Sherborne

It was a high pressured game for Exe needing some points from the game due to league positioning.

Yeovil the current number 2 in the league came at us fighting and within the first 15 minutes had already scored 2 goals. Exe started to dig deep and then saw a lot more possession going up into their attacking D. An altercation towards the baseline saw the GK from Yeovil sent off with a yellow. Exe knew they needed to maximise this and scored quickly to make it 2-1. Half time came around and the GK was back on, and so was the battle.

Yeovil scored a fantastic deflection from a short corner which saw us down to 3-1. Exe were determined to keep fighting and that is what we did. A short corner in our favour saw the score line taken to 3-2. Some very intense play with end to end hockey continued right up until the final whistle.

Some excellent performances from Sian Williams, Clare Whitworth and Alice Bradley must be noted.
