Match Report | Arriving in their pyjamas, an early start for the Dart team gave Exe a false sense of 'are they still half asleep?' A miscalculation by the Exe keeper gave Dart a gift in taking the lead with a soft shot. Exe were soon down to 10 players after a defender Helen Fyfe had to come off to attend a hand injury. 1-0 at half time. Second half started with renewed vigour, back to 11 players for a short time when yet another defender, Minz, had to leave the pitch after sustaining an injury to the toe after a penalty corner shot. A great Exe counter attack by Esme crossed to wing who put the final touch on the wrong side of the post. It wasn't to be our day as missed penalty corners opportunities not converted. Despite defending several short corners, the luck of the Irish on St Patrick's Day gifted Dart with three more goals - all deflecting off Exe players, who played most of the game with only 10 players. Final score 0-4 to Dart. |
