Match Report | Exe 3 vs Bude: a haiku Exe played well More goals than they expected Sadly they still lost.
Match Report After a slow start, Exe 3s found an exciting intensity. Finding themselves 2-0 down due to some speedy attacking play by Bude, so Exe did what they did best: reset, kept possession and won a short corner. Great passing across the D led to Kerry Thorne’s first goal, tapping the ball past the floundering keeper. As half-time approached, Exe found their feet and settled as a team. With encouraging words to play ahead of the ball, Exe caught the opposition off guard and camped in Bude’s half. A disappointing goal for Bude spurred Exe on further and Kerry Thorne got Exe’s second goal with a superb deflection from Emma Hulme’s cross. Bude reacted , making the score 4-2, but Exe again answered, with Kerry Thorne making it a hatrick, after Evie Jones’s shot at goal was deflected. Exe are still chasing their first win this season – but should be encouraged after today’s positive performance, There’s still time! Player of the match was Kerry Thorne.
