Match Report | Exe 2s were determined to win points this week after a disappointing loss in their previous match. Fired up by a motivational team talk from Coach ‘Popey’ Jo, Exe started with a sense of purpose. Composed play throughout the back four, and dynamic passing through the mid-field meant that Exe had much of the possession in the first half, and subsequently a number of chances on goal. However, ISCA defended well, with the score remaining 0-0 at half time. The second half saw ISCA up their efforts, which meant Exe were under pressure for the first 10minutes. However, Exe soon reacted and took control, earning a number of short corners. Exe thought they had taken the lead with some hard fought play in ISCAs Dee, resulting in the ball being fumbled into the goal, just after the umpire had blown his whistle. A 0-0 draw means that Exe 2s now have to fight for points against the top two teams in the league in order to ensure they stay out of the relegation zone. |
