Ladies 5th XI Vs Okehampton 3rds

Exe 5ths visited Okehampton 3rds on a lovely afternoon in the winter sunshine. 

Exe strung together some lovely passes in a fast paced first half and which saw both defences tested. Okehampton played a good holding game, whereas Exe were more determined to win the 50/50 ball and made good inroads out of their defence. The Okehampton goalie was kept busy saving several one on one's. Okehampton took the early advantage from a short corner, but Exe pressed hard and we're rewarded with a corner themselves. Esme Kilburn-Thompson latched on to the rebound from the first and struck home at the second attempt from topD . A couple of minutes later a second short corner was also fired home, this time Esme slipping left for Sarah-louise Worth to slide it past the goalie. 

Half time : 1-2

Okehampton came out fighting in the second half, but Exe were not to be put down easily. The play was littered with short corners, and after an extended sequence of corner after corner Okehampton finally found the back of the box to level the scores. Ten minutes of end to end hockey followed, with neither side able to break to deadlock.
