| Match Report | Exe set themselves up for a tough game against top of the league Okehampton 2s, and were right to expect a good fight. The first half saw both teams attack strongly and put pressure on each of the goalies and defence. After some fantastic saves from Jane Bailey, Okehampton got the first goal, but Exe didn't let their heads drop. After a strong run up the wing and into the D, Jojo Bannister put the ball straight through the goalies legs for Carlie Karakusevic to put it on the backboard. A well deserved equaliser that left the half time score at 1-1. The second half saw exciting runs from both sides and some great defending from Exe. Having made it a half time focus, Exe didn't let tiredness affect their level of play in the final 10 minutes, the girls kept working hard and held Okehampton off for the draw. Man of the match went to Jane Bailey in goal, very well deserved. A fantastic result for the 5ths today who played current leaders of the league, Okehampton 2! |
