Ladies 5th XI Vs Teign 3rds

***RESULT HAS SINCE BEEN REVERSED AS TEIGN WERE FOUND TO HAVE MUCH HIGHER PLAYERS ON THE PITCH. 5-0 TO EXE***

St Peter's pitch was borderline frozen when Exe 5s arrived to play Teign 3. The match went ahead with understandably less than maximum intensity from both sides on a slippery surface. 

Teign took the early possession and set up camp n the Exe defensive quarter. This gave the the confidence to push all their players forward, and they were very nearly caught short as Rachel Morris found herself running down the middle with only the goal keeper to beat. Unfortunately for Exe the slippery pitch allowed the ball to run on too far and she didn't quite get the shot away. Five minutes later however saw Rachel put it right with a similar one one one with the goalie which ended with Exe one up. Teign pulled the goal back just before half time with a nice shot from the top. 

Half time: 1-1

Teign came out fighting in the second half. Their first goal came from a well worked penalty corner - the first awarded in the match.  There followed a period where Exe appeared to lose focus, and a couple of soft goals for Teign ensued. 

The final goal came from another short corner five minutes from time, and Exe, despite some frantic work in the attacking D just failed to pull one back.
