Match Report | Exe 5s made the trip to Totnes to face high flying Dart 2s. Dart took the first push back and looked the stronger side from the off, although Exe were unlucky to be one down after just a couple of minutes, with a skied ball brushing the goalie's shirt on the way past. Undeterred, Exe pushed on, coming out of the tackle with more ball than the hom side. Exe were rewarded midway through the half, coming from a 16 clearance down the left wing and flicked home by Rachel Morris. Half time: 1-1 From the restart, Dart were more determined to maintain possession. Exe were still tackling hard and cleanly, but tiredness was creeping in and gaps started to appear. Goals were coming fairly regularly, both from set pieces and from open play. Players free in the D were able to tip home hard and fast passes from wide and from the top. Full time: 7-1 Exe can be well pleased, in particular, with the first half performance. Dart deserved their victory. Player of the match : Hannah Hocking in her first game for the club. |
