Match Report | A lovely sunny morning saw Isca 5ths visiting Exe 5ths at St Peter's. Exe started strongly with some nice passing around the back and down both wings. Giving the ball early was reaping good rewards and the possession quickly led to Lynette, in front of the P-spot, latching onto a cross from the right and Exe were one up. Isca were revitalised, and gained themselves a couple of penalty corners, but it was a failure to clear from a hit out which eventually led to the Equaliser. Half time 1:1 With both teams tiring a little at this early stage of the season, the beginning of the second half was end to end. Some penalty corners were traded without troubling the scoreline. The deciding goal was a lovely solo effort from Rachel, who picked up the ball on the half way line from a clearance (not for the first time today) and skipped around tiring defenders, finally flicking it past the go lie who couldn't have done much about it. A really enjoyable game with a great first win of the season. Full time 2:1 Man of the match: Rachel Morris.... But with votes for most of the team reflecting a fantastic team effort. |
