Match Report | After a half-term break, Exe 3s met Dart 2s with force. With a few of the standard team unavailable, Exe took the first five minutes to settle, but then the goals started coming. Megan Langley and Roxy Lewis started proceedings with a scramble in front of the keeper, before Emma Hulme remained composed at the exposed top of the D to calmly strike the ball home. The first half ended with Cissie Marlow - performing superbly in her new position as right midfield- slotting the ball into the far left hand of the goal. The 3s continued their dominance in the second half, with more interlinking play from Lewis and Langley leading to goal number four; two more followed from the indefatigable Evie Jones - including a reverse stick shot which sailed straight over the keepers head. Whilst Dart struggled to maintain possession in Exe's half, Jess Tucker was busy scoring goal seven. The final goal came from man of the match Gael Little, who after creating several attacking sequences throughout the game, smashed the ball home to round off a superb team performance from Exe. It seems fitting to finish with a quotation from an opposition match report: "Exe 3rd XI performed like a well oiled machine" |
