Match Report | Confident passing from Exe was a feature of the first twenty minutes and the sustained pressure led to Tilly Spey scoring with a nice shot from the left. Honiton came back strongly and the rest of the first period was end to end which ended in a goal for Honiton - disappointing after some good defending and some great saves from Vicky Boraston in goal. Half time score: 1-1 4 goals for Honiton in quick succession at the start of the second half resulted in a few dropped heads, with our young players at the back being intimidated by some strong play from Honiton. The marking became a bit ragged for a quarter of an hour or so, but credit to the girls for putting that period behind them and finishing strongly with more end to end hockey. A really pleasing level of effort all round and hopefully the girls will take the first half performance home with them rather than the second. Player of the match: Poppy Wood |
