Match Report |
West Clubs Women’s Hockey League leaders Exe are on the brink of promotion back to the national league following a 1-0 win at Taunton Vale.
The Exeter-based side require one point from their final two regional league matches to ensure a return to the Investec Women’s Conference West.
However Kelly Bartlett’s side must play a patient waiting game as their next league match – at home to 10th placed Bournemouth – is not until April 2 as there is a traditional Easter break this weekend.
Exe will buoyed by an unbeaten home record of nine wins and one draw in their previous 10 matches at St Peter’s School and, doubtless, by enthusiastic home support as they home in on a national league return.
Exe ace Clare Whitworth scored the all-important winner at Taunton Vale. |
