Exe could not overcome a slow start to their match v White Eagles. Despite going two goals down with 10 mins Exe were never out of it and came back strongly by dominating the end of the first half. A series of forays into the White Eagles D led to Heather Edworthy's shot being stopped by a foot on the line and Mel Vaggers - Webb cool slotted home the resulting penalty flick.
Unfortunately half time seemed to leave Exe lethargic and an early penalty corner saw Eagles extend their lead. Exe were galvanised and were soon excerpting pressure on the visitors defence. Eagles rarely threatened and any advance was soon thwarted by captain Sian Williams and man of the match Becky Goodwill. Exe were rewarded two minutes from time when Heather Edworthy's superb strike hit the roof of the net.
Another frustrating result for Exe 2s to finish off the first half of the season. Fresh start in January girls.
