Match Report | Exe went into their game against Taunton unbeaten at home and they were determined to keep it that way. A slight change in formation showed Exe's attacking intent and this was certainly evident from the start. Exe dominated the first half entering Taunton's d 27 times. Some great lead running from Anna-Mae, Clare Whitworth and Fi Moran brought about many chances. However Exe were unable to find the net due to a great performance by the Taunton keeper, both uprights and some goal line clearances and so the teams went in level at half time. Exe came out after the break with a renewed vigour and energy to get some goals. The first came after ten minutes when some lovely team passing finished with a cracking strike from Anna-Mae Morton. The second came 5 minutes later when Bridie Marlow finished off another good set of movement and passing by beating the diving keeper on the left post. A rare break by Taunton led to a goal by the away team and a tense last ten minutes. However great running back from Helen Tully, Kelly Barrett and Emma White as well as a solid performance from the back three kept Exe's 100% home win record and the game ended 2-1. |
