Exe started the game with a high-energy pace that startled a well-organised Cheltenham side.
Within 5 minutes, Becky Fagg opened the scoring with a tap in on the far post, following a great attack from Claire Whitworth and Bridie Marlow. Attacks from Cheltenham were dealt with with relative ease with confident play from the back four and exceptional tackling from Helen Bray.
The second goal came at the 20 minute mark with a well-executed corner from 'gaelic warrior' Anna-Mae. Cheltenham hit back with a scrappy goal following a short corner that didn't go to plan, before Exe made it 3-1, following another great run from player of the match Becky Fagg and a rebounded shot from Bridie Marlow.
The second half was a joy to watch, as the Exe girls played with confidence and flair in attack. Short passing combinations forced Cheltenham to chase the game and tire first. Many goal-scoring opportunities were created and Anna-Mae's second and Exe's 4th came following fantastic play from Claire Whitworth and Kte Wright pushing forward from defence.
Exe remain top of the table!
