Down to the bare 11 Exe were focused in the knowledge that they were in it for the long haul! Exe started strongly, we were attacking well and putting on the pressure. Against the run of play, after a brief spell in our "D", Tavistock were awarded a penalty corner. A solid strike from the top of the "D" slotted past the goalie, Holly Tozer. 1-0 at half time. A regroup and switch around of a few positions meant the 2nd half started well. We were awarded a penalty corner, a well worked pass from Karen Tinley to Charlotte Howard allowed Charlotte the opportunity to cleverly place the ball past the defenders and into the goal. 1-1 - we were back in it. The next 20-25mins were even with play at both ends. Tavistock closed us down well and stepped up to intercept the ball, passing well with a good cross into our "D" a deflected shot was on target and the score was 2-1. The Exe girls played really well with some solid 100% performances all round, and it was a well umpired, friendly game. Man of the Match with week goes to Rosie Karakusevic for sticking at it against a tricky, skilful player. 2-1 the final score. Onwards and upwards next week girls.
