Both teams started strongly in a tough fixture that saw Exe take on Clifton 2's. Exe got on the scoresheet first with good work by Kelly Barrett slipping the ball to Kat Harris who slotted it home. Not long after Laura Allen added a second with a reverse-stick shot. Clifton came out hard after the break putting Exe on the back foot but strong defence including excellent play by Emma White and Sarah Payne kept them out. Allen scored Exe's third before Clifton finally got a well-earned goal to ensure a hard fought match to the end.
